IPL AUCTION 2017 (DATE AND PLACE)

Indian Premier League 2017 season will certainly be the 10th edition of highly lucrative and popular India Twenty20 domestic contest which will be taking place after the T20 World Cup in India. Probable dates for IPL are the first week of April to mid-May but before that all important IPL Auction happens. People love to watch IPL Auction as their favourite player goes under the hammer. All eyes are on which player will move to which team. This year's IPL Auction is expected to take place in the first week of February. Before that teams are expected to announce the retained list. According to the trend goes, IPL Auction takes place for two days. IPL10 Auction is expected to start at 9:30 AM in the morning and will continue till 6:00 PM in the evening. IPL 2017 Auction Location is not confirmed yet. But Bangalore and Mumbai are the leading cities which are expected to host IPL 10 Auctions.

The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India released a list of 140 cricketers, consisting of 44 overseas players, who have been retained by their franchises for the upcoming season of the India Premier League(IPL).
Dale Steyn (GL), Kevin Pietersen (RPS), Mitchell Johnson (KXIP), Eoin Morgan (SRH), Trent Boult (SRH), Martin Guptill (MI), Corey Anderson (MI), Imran Tahir (DD) and Morne Morkel (KKR) were the big names in 63-member list of cricketers released by the franchises.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (often abbreviated as SRH) are a franchise cricket team representing the city of Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun TV channel Network and was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers were terminated from IPL. The team made an appearance in the IPL playoffs in its maiden season in 2013 and has won the final of the 2016 Indian Premier League versus Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The team is presently captained by David Warner and coached by Tom Moody. The primary home ground of the team is the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad changed the Deccan Chargers in 2012. They retained 20 players from the Chargers, which left slots open for 13 players (eight Indian, five overseas). They filled six of these with Thisara Perera, Darren Sammy, Sudeep Tyagi, Nathan McCullum, Quinton de Kock and Clint McKay. The team was announced in Chennai on 18 December 2012. The team is owned by Sun TV Network who won the bid of 850.5 million each year (approximately $15.9 million) for a five-year deal, a week after Deccan Chargers was terminated due to prolonged financial issues. Sun TV Network Limited, which is headquartered in Chennai, is one of India's biggest television network with 32 TV channels and 45 FM radio stations which is India's largest media and entertainment company. The team jersey was revealed on 8 March 2013, and the team anthem composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar was released on 12 March 2013. The Mumbai Indians (abbreviated as MI) are a franchise cricket team representing the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise is operated by India's biggest conglomerate, Reliance Industries, through its 100% subsidiary IndiaWin Sports. The primary home ground of the Mumbai Indians is the Wankhede Stadium.

The Mumbai Indians are among the most successful teams in the IPL. They won the 2011 Champions League Twenty20 after beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 31 runs in the final. The team won its first IPL title, in 2013, by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs in the final, and after that defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs to win its second Champions League Twenty20 title later that year. The Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) are actually a cricket team based in Pune, Maharashtra, India which plays in the Indian Premier League starting 2016. The team together with Gujarat Lions will feature as two-season replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who are suspended for two seasons due to the involvement in illegal betting by their respective business owners. The franchise is owned by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group managed by Sanjiv Goenka. The team name was declared on 18 January 2016 by Goenka in Kolkata and Raghu Iyer was appointed CEO. 

The Rising Pune Supergiants' home ground is the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. However, controversies arose over holding 2016 IPL games in Maharashtra due to water usage of the cricket stadiums during extreme drought and the Bombay High Court ordered all matches in May to be shifted away from the state. On 15 April 2016, it was reported that the Rising Pune Supergiants were considering the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam as an alternate home ground.

The Delhi Daredevils (commonly abbreviated as DD) are a franchise cricket team representing the city of Delhi in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Established in 2008 as one of the eight founding teams of the IPL, the Delhi franchise is owned by the GMR Group. Their home grounds are the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in Delhi and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Despite never making it to the IPL final, the team were table toppers twice (an IPL record shared only with the Chennai Super Kings) and qualified for Champions League T20 twice, making the semifinals in the 2012 edition. However, in previous seasons, the team has struggled, often ending up as wooden spooners.

The Gujarat Lions (commonly abbreviated as GL) are a temporary franchise cricket team based in the city of Rajkot, Gujarat which will play in the Indian Premier League in 2016 and 2017 seasons. The team will work as one of the substitutes for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were both suspended for two seasons due to alleged illegal betting by their respective owners. The franchise is owned by Intex Technologies. During the 2016 IPL players draft, Rajkot franchise picked Indian cricketers Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, alongside Brendon McCullum, James Faulkner and Dwayne Bravo. In an event held in New Delhi, the Rajkot-based team was named as Gujarat Lions and Suresh Raina was announced as their captain.

The team would certainly play five of their home matches at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium Rajkot and two of their home matches at Green Park Stadium Kanpur in the  Vivo IPL 2016.
